The psychological traumas of war aren’t left on the battlefield. They linger like shadows, making adaptation back to civilian life difficult for some.

“WE’VE HAD 19 SUICIDES IN THE WOLFHOUNDS SINCE I’VE BEEN OUT...IT DEFINITELY TOOK ITS TOLL.”

— Gary Houle, US ARMY

WHAT IS ARMORED COMBAT?

A team of fighters in full armor stands on the side of a field clutching axes, swords, and halberds, scanning the ranks of the opposing team. There is a moment of tension before the referee lifts the flag, and the teams are plunged into a brutal contest of strength and will.

In recent years, armored combat has become an international phenomenon, with leagues forming across the globe. Men and women are suiting up in medieval armor with historic weapons to fight in organized matches and competitions. Events consist of 1v1 and team fights, where the last team standing wins.
